Global Animal Disaster Management Conference Award Presented to Dr. Husted

In February 2021, the Global Animal Disaster Management Conference (GADMC®) was held virtually with over 1,500 registered delegates from around the world to listen to experts on creating animal-inclusive resilient communities.

Over 45 speakers from across 16 countries were invited to present at the world’s largest conference of its kind for animal disaster management. Renown speakers including Professor Leslie Irvine from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and Professor Ilan Kelman from University College London.

The inaugural GADMC® Awards Ceremony was recently held (31 July) online, and Dr Rebecca Husted’s presentation on a review of case studies on large animal rescue won “Most popular presentation”.

Dr. Rebecca Husted also provided an additional presentation on “The Reality of Fires and Veterinary Facilities” at GADMC® at short notice, which was also well attended and received excellent feedback.

“Dr Husted is the world’s leading authority on technical large animal rescue, having published a comprehensive text on the subject and instructed contemporary rescue methods around the world. We were very privileged to have her present at GADMC and so pleased her efforts have been recognised” Says Steve Glassey, Chair of the Conference Committee.
