During the June 14, 2022 meeting of the Coalition of State Horse Councils (CSHC), Brandi Ebner, Executive Director of the Oregon Horse Council, was named their new Vice Chair. The officer team includes Justine Staten, with the Kansas Horse Council, as Chair; Sarah Coleman, with the Kentucky Horse Council, as Secretary, and Tom Tweeten, with the Minnesota Horse Council, as Treasurer. The new officers will receive guidance as needed by advisory council of the outgoing leadership, former Chair Bill Scebbi. The position terms are for 2 years and as leadership of the CSHS will be intricately involved in nation-wide discussions, advocacy, and education.
The Coalition of State Horse Councils (CSHC) has been a longstanding committee of the American Horse Council (AHC) formed to advise the AHC on state and local issues, to involve state horse councils in the work of the AHC, to provide cohesive national leadership for state horse councils, to serve as a networking forum and center for information dissemination for state horse councils, and to positively contribute to the work of the AHC in keeping with the best interests of the horse industry.
The CSHC meets virtually quarterly with horse councils across the country to share information, gain education to better run programs, learn from industry leaders, and more. Regularly the CSHC comes together to act as a conduit for strong, effective grassroots activism on issues of importance impacting the equine industry and the well-being of equine sharing information up and down across the states.
The Oregon Horse Council is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit that works to strengthen, connect, and represent Oregon’s equine industry.
