LBCC Accepting horses for Young Horse Training Program

The Linn-Benton Community College Equine Science program is currently accepting horses for admission into our Young Horse Training Program. The program begins September 28th, and runs through May of 2021. We take unstarted, or lightly started horses, and give them comprehensive, well-rounded, appropriately paced training, so they can be an excellent partner to you both on the ground and under saddle. This program has been in existence since 1986, and I am happy to provide references upon request.
Training is done by Equine Science students under the supervision of two experienced instructors. Once your horse gets going under saddle you will be offered (free) lessons by your student trainer. The horse training is free, but horses are required to be boarded at the LBCC Horse Center, located about 1.5 miles from the main campus in Albany, OR. At this time full care board is $350/month.
Due to COVID-19, we are running a smaller class than usual this year, so space is a little more limited than usual.
If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to call (503-551-4010) or email (stroobj@linnbenton.edu) and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
