What does a wilderness permit cost?

Central Cascades Wilderness Permits for day use have a reservation fee of $1 per person per trip. You can get permits for your riding buddies at the same time you get your own.
Limited-Entry Permits for overnight use have a reservation fee of $6 per group per trip. You’ll need to state how many people and horses are in your group. The group pass will cover all of you.
These fees are paid to Recreation.gov, the privately-operated website that all Federal agencies use for reservations and permits. None of the permit fees go to the Forest Service.
For day rides, nearly half of the permits are available 10 days before your ride. The remainder are available 2 days before your ride. Permits are available at www.recreation.gov.
