Enjoy fabulous scenery and restaurants in close proximity to beautiful trails that wind along the Crooked River rim. Enjoy the Over The Edge Taphouse (with food trucks) and the Big Dog Saloon – both less than a 1/2 mile from the camping venue. Crooked River Ranch also has incredible golfing just down the road. This is an event not to be missed.\n\nEVENT DETAILS\nThis will be the 1st weekend of a 2 part series. 2nd weekend is Sept 9 & 10\, 2023.\nSaturday we will have an In Hand Challenge and a Trail Challenge.\nSunday will be a Trail Challenge.\n\nTHE TERRAIN\nSandy arena (not located at the camping venue – but will be used during the trail challenges). In-hand course is near camping area and barefoot friendly. This is a new venue so some weeds will be evident until course is broken in.\nThe trail has some rock throughout – we recommend hoof protection for tender footed horses. The trail goes along a golf course\, a disc golf course\, and along the Crooked River rim. Great views of the river and mountains.\n\nMEALS\nPlease bring all of your own food and drinks. Convenience store is just down the road at the opposite end of Commercial Loop – Tap House and Saloon located less than a 1/2 mile from camp. There is a grocery store and several restaurants in Terrebonne\, OR around 10 minutes from camp.\n\nAWARDS\nBeautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice\, Intermediate\, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17)\, 1st-3rd place Youngin’ (age 7-12)\, and 1st place Newcomer!\n\nWe will also be awarding “Judge’s Choice” prizes each weekend. Each judge at each event will pick their choice\, and those names will be put into a bucket for the drawing at the end of each day. This is designed for those wanting to try trail on a smaller scale.\n\n\n INTRO MOUNTAIN TRAIL – NOVICE – $20 each \nNovice is the “medium” difficulty level offered at all Mountain Trail shows. These Novice patterns will be simpler than those at the outdoor summer shows and the National Mountain Trail Championship November 2023.\n 101 – NOVICE in-hand\n 102 – NOVICE adult amateur\n 103 – NOVICE select rider (50+)\n 104 – NOVICE Jr. rider 17 & under\n 105 – NOVICE open rider\n\n\n INTRO MOUNTAIN TRAIL – EXPLORER – $20 each \nExplorer is the “easy” level offered at all Mountain Trail shows. SUMMARY:Glenhaven Farm Trail Series
DESCRIPTION:About The Venue\nGlenhaven Farms\, owned by Cary and Barbara Gaynor\, is proud to be hosting its first Silver Buckle Series.  Located in S.Salem about one hour south of Portland on 67 acres of rolling forest and pastureland with some beautiful views across the Willamette Valley.  We are 20 minutes from I-5 and directions are easy.  If the weather becomes a problem\, we have a 60×200 indoor arena. \nWe are providing a ‘ Welcome’  continental breakfast at sign in.  All entrants are put into a drawing for several “door” prizes. Parking will be on our hay field.  There are limited stalls available and 6 guest paddocks (three with shelters).  Be sure to reserve ahead. \nWe have come up with several new obstacles to challenge you. \nYou will need to bring portable corrals or plan to hi-line or tie to your trailer.  Please be courteous and do not allow your horses to dig up our field.  Corrals must be moved daily to avoid wear on our field.  Water is available at the barn and paddocks. \nEvent Details\nThese are Events #7\, #8\, and #9 and conclude the Glenhaven Silver Buckle Series. \nSaturday will start with the In-Hand obstacle course to be followed after a 45 minute break by a ridden Obstacle Challenge. Both events will be held in the field behind the barn. \nSunday will be a 3 mile Obstacle Trail Challenge with 8 obstacles. \nThe Terrain\nThe terrain is mostly gentle to rolling hills.  The trails are dirt but there are occasional rocks.  Horses with tender feet may want to wear shoes or boots. \nMeals\nSaturday morning will start with pastries and beverages hosted by Glenhaven Farms.  Lunches are on you.  There will be a Saturday Night POT LUCK so please bring a dish to share.  We will be grilling burgers. \nSunday morning pastries and beverage will be available for $4 \nAwards\nBeautiful ribbons 1st-6th place Novice\, Intermediate\, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17)\, 1st-3rd place Youngin’ (age 7-12)\, and 1st place Newcomer!  There will be a High Point award for the weekend in Novice\, Intermediate\, and Advanced. \nSilver buckles will be presented for the overall high point winner in the Novice\, Intermediate\, and Advanced divisions of the series. \nAdditional Opportunities\nWe will have a professional equine photographer on the grounds taking both candid and custom photos.  They will be available for purchase at her table in the barn. \nBrenda Fromhold\, a National Champion in these events\, will be holding a clinic on Saturday evening.  The clinic will be held a short while after the pot luck.  She will be covering obstacle work.  There will be a fee – see Amenities. \n

Come test your skills!\nPlease stop inside the club-house to register and sign a waiver BEFORE mounting your horse. Potable water and restrooms are available. \n$15 per horse and rider\, lead or pony. Bring your own lunch as we do not have food at this event.

DESCRIPTION:This is an online course scheduled for Tuesday\, August 18th start time 9:45 p.m.  EDT.  (8:45 p.m CDT\, 7:45 p.m. MDT\, 6:45 p.m. PDT) \nPlan on joining the conference 15 minutes early to work out any technical kinks\, so we can start on time.    \nJudges Webinar takes 2 1/2 hours.  \nBe sure to register here and complete the Knowledge Check before you attend the online clinic\, see below for details. \nYou will need to:\n(1) have your own computer or tablet (phones will NOT work for viewing videos)  for scoring purposes\n(2) be connected to the internet during the webinar \n(3)  Our system works best with Google Chrome\n(4) click on the Join.Me link which will be provided in an email to you the day of the webinar\, to be connected to everyone in the conference. \nOr by using the call-in number provided by Join.Me \n(5) Click on the Online Judging Clinic link that is found in both the information email or join.me email so that you can follow along with the clinic outline and score your videos. \n\n\n\nJudge Webinar\n\n\n\nThis webinar is for both amateur horseman and equine professionals who wish to learn how to apply their expertise and knowledge to judging obstacles as per ETS Standards. This clinic features hands-on practice on example obstacles using videos. Aspiring judges gain confidence through practice and feedback on their scoring from the classroom experience. The webinar consists of a short review of ETS Judging Standards with the bulk of the time spent practicing judging using video performances. \nPREPARATION FOR THE CLINIC:\nTo prepare for the clinic\, we ask that you complete the ‘Classroom’ portion by reviewing the Study Materials located on the Judge Certification page (JUDGE tab) and take the ‘Knowledge Check’ prior to the clinic. \nHere is a quick link: JUDGE PREPARATION MATERIALS

Due to not knowing what the creek will do in August all riders should expect man made water features. Sign up info will be updated to this event soon. We will offer green horse\, green rider\, Novice Horse\, Novice Rider\, Intermediate horse\, Intermediate Rider\, Non Pro\, Youth and Open divisions.\nwe have a limit of 20 stalls/pens but also allow self penning. Dry Camping is free.\nconcessions on site.
